Panel 1 - Transportation

Horse-drawn vehicles, bicycles, trains, cars and motor bikes have been forms of transportation in our area through the years. Classic cars are displayed each year at the Fifties Fling and one may see families dressed in Fifties clothes (note the poodle skirt, hairdos, rolled-up sleeves, etc.,) though they still carry phones incorporating modern technology.) Buggies transporting Amish families are seen routinely and have become a part of our landscape. Hence, the farrier remains an important part of community life. Three auto dealerships which operated for years in Sugarcreek are shown in this panel and the brand of cars and trucks they sold are represented with cars of various periods in history.
